As I prepare for my week ahead…I think of all the things that need to be done around the farm. As always, fences need to be fixed, there is hay that needs to be cut and baled, and a list that goes on and on. Yet there is one thing that I find myself doing way to much of…worrying.
At times it seems that worry has taken first place around here. Last year it was a drought that had me worried. This year after a few good rains, I have moved that one way down on my list. This year it is politics. It’s mainly worrying about my future. When you make your living in production agriculture the standard worries are usually weather, market prices, hired help, etc.
Now I have found myself very concerned about taxes and regulations and what that might do to our economy, our society, and/or our families and farms. I can not and will not let worry consume me. I will pray and I will vote, and if you are reading this – I ask you to do the same – please PRAY and VOTE!
